Learn Wing Chun in the traditional way
Passed down privately behind closed doors from Master to Student.
Historically Wing Chun was passed down to close family members. It was not taught publicly as a source of income, as the Masters were already wealthy businessmen and most Sifu’s only took in a handful of private students during their lifetime.
This changed during the 1950’s when Grandmaster Ip Man had to teach publicly to provide an income during a very hard time in his life when he fled to Hong Kong from a government ruled China. It was in the 1970’s and ’80s when his student Bruce Lee exploded onto the screen and made the art of Wing Chun known world wide, thus changing the way wing chun was taught forever.
Even though the Hong Kong Grandmaster had a public school, it was his senior students (that had been taught traditionally), who conducted most of the classes.
I have been extremely lucky to have been accepted as the last student of Ip Man’s senior private student from the 1950’s, Grandmaster Choi Siu Kwong. He has taught in the traditional method where there is no grading system, no colored belts or sashes, just hard work and elite instruction. And just like myself, you will be given the information and structured learning tools to become the best version of yourself and then it is up to you to practice and perfect them under the guidance of your teacher.
The syllabus is tailored to your individual strengths and weaknesses and is a microstudy in the art of Wing Chun, designed to help you meet your goals and overcome challenges.
Private lessons can be beneficial for students who are slow or fast learners. These lessons can be used to polish techniques or enhance a skill. They can boost your confidence during regular class.
You can move forward in a troublesome area with the help of elite private lessons with a qualified instructor, outside of regular classes.
